Job Summary
The Restoration Technician is responsible for performing water mitigation, light to moderate carpentry, demolition, and other restoration-related services resulting from water, fire, mold, and other property damage. This role requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in residential and commercial environments. IICRC certifications are a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Water Mitigation & Drying
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, and dehumidification
- Set up, monitor, and remove drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers)
- Conduct moisture readings and document daily drying progress
- Perform content manipulation and protection as needed
Demolition & Tear-Out
- Remove damaged drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinetry, and trim
- Perform controlled demolition to prevent further damage
- Dispose of debris in compliance with company and local regulations
Carpentry & Repair
- Perform light to moderate carpentry repairs including:
- Drywall installation and repair
- Baseboards, trim, and door repairs
- Framing and subfloor repairs as needed
- Assist with rebuild and restoration work when required
General Restoration Services
- Assist with fire, mold, and specialty cleaning services as needed
- Maintain job site cleanliness and safety standards
- Interact professionally with homeowners, adjusters, and team members
- Accurately complete job documentation, photos, and daily reports
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency response
Qualifications & Skills
- 1+ year of experience in restoration, construction, or a related trade preferred
- Knowledge of water mitigation techniques and drying principles
- Basic carpentry and demolition skills
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in physically demanding environments
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined or damaged structures
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
- IICRC WRT (Water Restoration Technician)
- IICRC ASD, AMRT, or FSRT (a plus)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (a plus)
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
- Pass background check and drug screening
